The Board of County Commissioners voted to allow any member of a Frederick County board or commission to recite the Pledge of Allegiance at the beginning of a meeting.
The motion proposed by Commissioner Kirby Delauter and approved by a majority of the board will allow anyone in attendance at a board or commission meeting to be free to participate or to not participate in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. No person will be required to participate and no consequences will flow from a person’s decision to participate or not.
