[ARCHIVED] Frederick County Executive Gardner Appoints Horn As Community Development Division Director

Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner today announced the appointment of Steve Horn as director of the Community Development Division, effective February 23. The division is comprised of the Planning & Development Review Department, Permits & Inspections Department and Business Development & Retention Department.

Executive Gardner commented, “I am pleased to welcome Steve Horn to our outstanding Frederick County management team. I am confident that he will bring a balanced approach and good government practices to our Community Development Division. Steve is a good listener and respected professional with extensive experience at the local level in land use planning. He is also highly esteemed by residents, staff and developers alike.

“With today’s appointment, I also want to thank Gary Hessong, who has done a great job managing the Community Development Division and will now return to serving as director of our Permits & Inspections Department.”
