During her weekly public information briefing, County Executive Jan Gardner commended Director/Chief Tom Owens of the Frederick County Division of Fire and Rescue Services for the training, technology and cost-saving initiatives accomplished since she appointed him in March 2015 to oversee fire and emergency medical services operations.
“Chief Owens hit the ground running and has already accomplished much for our career and volunteer fire fighters and paramedics. We are proud to have such a strong leader in this important public safety position that has the vision and know-how to move a number of initiatives forward in the areas of training accreditation, implementation of the mobile data terminals and savings of taxpayer dollars in many areas. I thank him and all of our division employees for their outstanding service.”
