Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner will host an open house town-hall style meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, to share information about a proposal by Interfaith Housing Alliance, Inc., and PIRHL to purchase the county-owned property at 520 North Market Street, Frederick, Md., for purposes of creating workforce housing.
The meeting will be held in the first floor hearing room of Winchester Hall, 12 East Church Street, Frederick, Md.
Executive Gardner invites the public to attend the public meeting to view renderings of the proposed renovations to the building, ask questions and hear a short presentation.
“Working together with Interfaith Housing Alliance, we look to transform a well-loved city icon into a mixed income housing development right in the heart of downtown Frederick, thus helping to revitalize that area. My Community Needs Leadership Team identified the need for workforce housing, and this public-private partnership idea is suited for seniors and millennials alike. The proposal has already received positive feedback,” she commented.
