[ARCHIVED] Citizens Reminded to Prepare for Heavy Rains, Flooding

Due to this week’s forecasted impact from Hurricane Joaquin, the Division of Emergency Management reminds Frederick County citizens to be prepared.

Small stream and urban flooding are likely. How much flooding will depend on duration, intensity and location of the storm. Hurricane Joaquin has the potential to produce a significant rain event in Frederick County in a short amount of time. High winds and flash floods also can occur with these storms, often with very little warning.

When faced with flooded roadways remember to “Turn Around, Don’t Drown”.
