Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner today celebrated one year of Charter Government that has changed the tone of county government and ensured an open and honest process for the citizens of Frederick County.
The event highlighted the accomplishments over the past year, expressed appreciation to those who have been active in the transition to Charter Government and provided a glimpse into what the future holds for Frederick County.
Executive Gardner commented, “Engaging the public has been one of the most important factors of the first year of Charter Government, and I thank the voters for giving me the privilege and honor to serve as the first county executive. We have accomplished so much that would not have been possible without the many citizens who stepped forward to help on our Transition Team and four Leadership Teams during the changeover to Charter Government. Working cooperatively and openly with the County Council, we are shaping a bright future for our citizens. Indeed, it is a beautiful day in Frederick County!”
