[ARCHIVED] Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner Declares Local State of Emergency

Citizens asked to stay home and off the roads . . .

Due to an anticipated severe winter storm with blizzard conditions, Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner today declared a Local State of Emergency in Frederick County, Maryland, beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2016. The order authorizes agencies to activate the county’s Emergency Operations Plans and take such actions as are necessary to protect lives during this emergency.

In order to protect the lives of citizens and facilitate the movement of emergency vehicles, the order specifies that until further notice, all individuals are requested to refrain from operating vehicles on any county-owned or maintained road from 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2016, until the state of emergency is terminated by Executive Gardner.
