[ARCHIVED] Executive Gardner Recognizes Health Department "Take Back My Life" Campaign

County Executive Jan Gardner congratulated the Frederick County Health Department today for its award-winning “Take Back My Life” substance abuse public education campaign. The campaign received a 2015 Gold MarCom Award from the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals, as it stood out from more than 6,500 international entries for the 2015 competition across all categories. In the integrated marketing category, there were 650 entries, and the campaign was one of only 30 to receive gold awards. The awards competition recognizes outstanding creative achievement by marketing and communication professionals.

“I commend the Health Department for receiving such international acclaim. The campaign sends a message of hope to those who are struggling with an addiction to heroin and prescription pain medications. That message says recovery and sobriety are possible,” said Executive Gardner. “I encourage everyone to watch these moving videos and share the public service announcements. Thanks to the Health Department and a concerted effort, Frederick County is making a difference in the lives of people facing the challenge of an addiction. Our weapons are prevention, treatment and education.”
