FREDERICK, MD – Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner today re-iterated the role of her Craft Beverage Events Work Group. Recent discussions at a Planning Commission meeting misrepresented the goal of the work group. The group is narrowly focused on determining under what conditions promotional and educational events should be allowed at wineries, breweries and distilleries. Any other type of event venue is outside the scope of the appointed work group.
This task force is not involved in any comprehensive study of events in agricultural zones. “I have no interest or intent in appointing a task force for that purpose,” Executive Gardner said Thursday.
