County Executive Jan Gardner will unveil a billboard at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 27, that illustrates the impact of the heroin and opioid epidemic that has been destroying lives in Frederick County and across the nation. The billboard will raise public awareness as part of the county’s fight to end substance abuse.
Members of the Frederick County Heroin Consortium, appointed by Executive Gardner to bring government agencies and community advocates together, have been invited to attend the unveiling.
The unveiling will be held in front of the Work Release Center of the Frederick County Adult Detention Center, 7301 Marcie’s Choice Lane, and will be videotaped for later broadcast on FCG TV, cable channel 19, and webcast at www.FrederickCountyMD.gov/video.
