Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner addressed the importance of effective training for the men and women in the fire and rescue service who keep county residents, homes and businesses safe on a daily basis.
She announced that the renovated Burn Building and its new addition are now operational at the Frederick County Public Safety Training Facility. The building simulates realistic situations and provides firefighter recruits experience in a controlled environment. The project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget.
“We live in a safe community, due in large part to our well-trained public safety team,” said Executive Gardner. “I am so pleased that the Burn Building is now operational to provide a live fire exercise for our recruits, new volunteers and experienced firefighters who want to refresh their training.”
