The Division of Utilities and Solid Waste Management has completed emergency repairs to a water line leak in Point of Rocks, Md.  Water service has now been restored for approximately 70 residents on Gibbons Road, Gibbons Court and Wise Road.

Following such a water shutdown, county officials recommend that citizens flush the cold water taps they use in their home or business for at least five minutes. Begin with the highest level faucet and then open the other faucets one at a time, moving from the highest floor to the lowest.  After five minutes, turn off the faucets in reverse order, from lowest to highest. Refrigerator lines should also be flushed.

For more information, contact the division at 301-600-1825.  After hours, citizens may call the emergency line at 301-600-2194.
