County Executive Jan
Gardner said she is advancing the design of two school construction
projects in one of the fastest-growing areas of Frederick County. She will introduce
her first-ever supplemental budget to advance an addition to Oakdale Middle
School and construction of a new elementary school in the east county area. The
design work will be funded by impact and school construction fees that are paid
by developers.
“My goal is to address school overcrowding and have the
developers pay their fair share,” Executive Gardner said. “Every student
deserves a seat in a classroom, and these schools are desperately needed
today.”
