The Frederick County Board of Elections, sitting as the Board of Canvassers for Frederick County, Md., announced today that the process of opening, reviewing and/or counting absentee ballots cast in the Nov. 6, 2018 Gubernatorial General Election will be extended through Friday, Nov. 9, due to the large volume of ballots being processed.
The Board processed over 2,800 absentee ballots today on the first day of the ballot count. An undetermined amount will be processed tomorrow. The Board estimates the total count for absentee ballots will be over 5,000. Some of those ballots may be processed in the second absentee canvass on Nov. 16. No voting results will be released until tomorrow.
