Roddy
Road near Thurmont, Md., reopened to motorists on Friday, Dec. 20. The road was closed by the
Frederick County Division of Public Works on Dec. 13 to make repairs to a
height detection portal that had been damaged by a vehicle. The portal was
designed to prevent over-sized vehicles from driving into the historic Roddy
Road Covered Bridge.
The bridge was not damaged in the incident. Repairs to the
portal were completed Friday.
