Libraries to close, public access limited at county facilities, non-essential meetings canceled
County Executive Jan Gardner announced today that Frederick County Government offices and facilities will remain open, with modifications, to ensure that essential services continue for residents and businesses during the coronavirus pandemic. In response to federal, state, and local decisions to help mitigate the spread of the coronavirus, Frederick County will close some operations, limit public access to facilities, cancel large events, and modifying where and how some county employees work.
“Public health and safety is a fundamental role of local government and we are taking steps to slow the spread of the coronavirus,” said Executive Gardner. “We are heeding the recommendations of national, state and local officials. Frederick County is doing our part to ensure public health and help reduce the spread of the virus to our families and our community.”
