Livable Frederick Implementation Continues
With South Frederick Corridors Plan
FREDERICK, MD – Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner today announced the kick-off of the South Frederick Corridors Plan, a small area plan focused on the business corridors of Md. Routes 85/355. The South Frederick Corridors Plan helps to implement the Livable Frederick Master Plan, an award-winning plan that establishes a framework for the future of Frederick County.
“The business corridor south of the City of Frederick is an economic center of Frederick County,” Executive Gardner said. “This area is home to one out of every five jobs in the county. By shaping the corridors’ future through a public process, we can create the best possible environment to grow jobs for the people who live here.”
Among the many factors that will be involved in developing the South Frederick Corridors Plan are goals related to reinforcing and creating economic strengths and assets, supporting existing business and industries, and fostering innovation and opportunity.
To enhance and support the development of the South Frederick Corridors Plan, an advisory group has been formed. The group includes representatives from businesses, property owners in the area, the development community, and experts in transportation, housing, and the environment. The first advisory group meeting will be held virtually on Oct. 5 at 6:30 p.m. A link to view the meeting can be found at FrederickCountyMD.gov/SouthFrederickCorridors under the Participation tab.
