FREDERICK, MD – The Frederick County Office of Transportation Engineering announced today that Gas House Pike will be closed at Bridge No. F09-21 over Linganore Creek on or about December 7, 2020. This will allow contractor W.F. Delauter & Son, Inc., to remove and construct two structures and roadway approaches; install roadway drainage, pipe culverts, headwalls, a stormwater management facility, utilities, guardrail, and architectural treatment on the bridges’ superstructure; and perform paving work for 1.7+/- miles of Gas House Pike (bridge site to Boyers Mill Road/McKaig Road intersection).
The work is estimated to last 15 months until March 2022, pending weather or unforeseen conditions. The full-time road closure is estimated to last about one year from start of construction until December 2021. A signed detour route will be in effect during the road closure, and will utilize McKaig Road, Old Annapolis Road, Green Valley Road (MD 75), Drummine Road, Central Church Road, and Gas House Pike.
