FREDERICK, MD – The historic covered bridge on Utica Road over Fishing Creek was struck and damaged by a box truck this afternoon. As a result, the road will be closed at the bridge until repairs can be made.
A detour will be in place. Drivers should follow Hessong Bridge Road to Lewistown Road to Old Frederick Road.
Department staff has notified emergency personnel.
