FREDERICK, MD – The Frederick County Office of Transportation Engineering (OTE) announced today that Gas House Pike at the crossing over Linganore Creek is now re-opened to traffic.
The closure allowed the contractor, W.F. Delauter and Son, Inc., to complete construction of two new bridges, roadway bridge approaches, full-depth paving, and surface paving on Gas House Pike. During construction, the existing bridge (F09-21) was replaced with a new 77-foot span concrete bridge. Similarly, just west of Structure No. F09-21, an existing small, multi-cell culvert was replaced with a new 52-foot span concrete bridge. The roadway at this location has been closed since December 7, 2020 and this phase of the project has been completed on-schedule.
The project is still under construction to complete remaining work occurring near and/or off the roadway. At times a one-lane closure along Gas House Pike, utilizing a flagging operation, during daytime work hours will be required to complete the remaining work. The project completion is anticipated for spring 2022, pending weather.
