[ARCHIVED] Frederick County Government Services Closed for Thanksgiving Holiday

FREDERICK, Md. – Frederick County government services will be closed Nov. 24 - 25 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Services will resume their regularly scheduled times, Monday, Nov. 28.

Additional information related to the holiday schedule:

  1. Animal Control and Adoption Center will be closed on Thursday, November 24, and Friday, November 25.  Adoptions and Administrative activities will resume on Saturday, November 26. Details: 301-600-1546 or visit www.FrederickCountyMD.gov/animalcontrol.  Animal Control Officers will be available throughout the Holiday at (301) 600-1544.  For an animal-related emergency, phone (301) 600-1603. 
  2. The Landfill and the Reichs Ford Road Recycling Center will be closed on Thanksgiving and there will be no curbside recycling pick-up. The facility will reopen on Friday and recycling collections will shift one day later than the normal schedule.   3. Frederick County Public Libraries will be closed from 5 pm on Wednesday, November 23 through Friday, November 25. Virtual resources and services are still available 24/7 at www.fcpl.org.
  4. Frederick County Courts and State’s Attorney Office District and Circuit Courts are closed. State’s Attorney offices will also be closed

  8. TransIT Services – On Thursday, Nov. 24, 2022, TransIT services will not be in operation.  MARC Train and the MTA 204, 505, and 515 Commuter Buses will not operate. On Friday, Nov. 25, TransIT-plus (demand response) service will not operate. Connector service will operate on a Weekday Holiday Schedule. Shuttle service will operate on a regular schedule.
