[ARCHIVED] County Executive to Host Town Halls on Budget

A List of Budget Community Meetings

Meetings Scheduled in Each Council District

FREDERICK, Md. – Frederick County Executive Jessica Fitzwater invites the public to join her at one of five town hall meetings she is hosting in January to help her set priorities for her upcoming budget. A meeting is scheduled in each of the five Council Districts. People can attend whichever meeting is most convenient for them; they are not limited to the meeting in their home district.

“Providing many opportunities to listen and learn from the public is of utmost importance to me as we embark on our budget process,” County Executive Fitzwater said. “I am looking forward to hosting these events along with the County Council Members so we all can hear what matters to the residents in every corner of our beautiful county.”

The meetings are scheduled as follows: 

District 1, represented by Council Member Jerry Donald
 
6 p.m. Monday, January 9
 Brunswick City Hall, 1 West Potomac Street, Brunswick

District 2, represented by Council Member Steve McKay 
 
6 p.m. Thursday, January 12
 Urbana Volunteer Fire & Rescue, 3602 Urbana Pike, Urbana

District 3, represented by Council Member M.C. Keegan-Ayer 
 
7 p.m. Wednesday, January 25 
 Waverley Elementary School, 201 Waverley Drive, Frederick

District 4, represented by Council Member Kavonté Duckett 
 
7 p.m. Monday, January 23
 Gov. Thomas Johnson High School, 1501 North Market Street, Frederick

District 5, represented by Council Member Mason Carter 
 
1 p.m. Saturday, January 28
 Thurmont Regional Library, 76 East Moser Road, Thurmont

Each town hall will be recorded and posted online for later viewing. People who cannot attend a meeting may submit comments online at FrederickCountyMD.gov/BudgetPublicHearing. All meetings are open to the public. If anyone needs auxiliary aids or services for effective communication, please contact the ADA Coordinator at ADA@FrederickCountyMD.gov, or by calling 301-600-1110, preferably at least three days before the meeting.
