Three Listening Sessions Remain to Voice Budget Priorities
FREDERICK, Md. – Frederick County Executive Jessica Fitzwater will host three budget town halls next week to help set priorities for her upcoming budget. The events are part of a series of town halls that have been held in each council district. Based on turnout at the previous sessions, the town hall on Jan. 28, which was originally scheduled for Thurmont Regional Library, is being moved to Catoctin High School. As a reminder, people can attend whichever meeting is most convenient for them. They are not limited to the meeting in their home district.
The remaining meetings include:
District 4, represented by Council Member Kavonté Duckett
7 p.m. Monday, January 23
Gov. Thomas Johnson High School cafeteria, 1501 North Market Street, Frederick. Enter near the auditorium.
District 3, represented by Council Member M.C. Keegan-Ayer
7 p.m. Wednesday, January 25
Waverley Elementary School cafeteria, 201 Waverley Drive, Frederick
*A Spanish interpreter will be available for this session.
District 5, represented by Council Member Mason Carter
1 p.m. Saturday, January 28
Catoctin High School cafeteria, 14745 Sabillasville Road, Thurmont
Each town hall will be recorded and posted online for later viewing. People who cannot attend a meeting may submit comments online at FrederickCountyMD.gov/BudgetPublicHearing. All meetings are open to the public.
