FREDERICK, MD – The over-height warning portal south of the historic Roddy Road Covered Bridge has been repaired after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday evening, and the road is now open to traffic. Frederick County’s Department of Highway Operations completed repairs Friday afternoon. The portal, near Thurmont, was installed to alert drivers when their vehicles will not fit within the covered bridge. In this instance, the bridge was not harmed.
