FREDERICK, MD – The over-height warning portal on Roddy Road south of the covered bridge near Thurmont was struck and damaged by a vehicle early Wednesday morning. As a result, the road will be closed at the bridge until repairs can be made to the warning portal. The historic Roddy Road Covered Bridge was not harmed. Repairs to the over-height warning portal will be completed by the Office of Highway Operations. Department staff has notified emergency personnel.
