Transfer Station, Yard Waste Inaccessible;
Recycling Center Remains Open
UPDATE: The Reichs Ford Road facility reopened as of 2:10 p.m.
FREDERICK, Md. – Due to a downed power line near the facility entrance, the Reichs Ford Road solid waste facility will be closed until further notice. The closure affects the scalehouse, transfer station, yard waste and compost program. The closure also impacts all commercial haulers that would offload at the transfer station. Residents can still access the recycling center and Citizens Convenience Center. The power company is on site to address the downed wire, but a lengthy repair is anticipated.
The Frederick County Division of Solid Waste and Recycling appreciates the public’s patience during this emergency situation.
