[ARCHIVED] Frederick County Celebrates National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

Celebrating the FIRST, first responders

FREDERICK, Md. – The second week in April is designated as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week and Frederick County is proud to join the nation in celebrating our dedicated 9-1-1 professionals. This week is dedicated to honoring the vital role of Public Safety Telecommunicators, who serve as the first, first responders, providing life-saving support and coordination during emergencies.

Public Safety Telecommunicators are the first and most critical contact the public has during an emergency. Frederick County’s 9-1-1 professionals exhibit compassion, understanding, and professionalism all while making quick decisions, solving problems, and remaining calm under pressure. Their dedication and pride in their work are essential to the safety and well-being of our community.

If a Public Safety Telecommunicator made a difference in your life, provided help to a loved one, or did an exceptional job in helping you with a situation, you can thank them at www.FrederickCountyMD.gov/Thank911.
