Legislative Affairs

The legislative affairs program of County Executive Jessica Fitzwater works to identify and monitor bills of interest to the people of Frederick County, drafting legislation and providing public testimony before the General Assembly in Annapolis.

Under Charter Government, it is the County Executive's role to advance the legislative priorities of the county.  She values open government and community participation and encourages people to provide input and feedback in the legislative process. 

A public hearing on the upcoming 2026 Legislative Session will take place in early December 2025.  The public hearing will take place at Winchester Hall, 12 East Church Street, and will be streamed on FCG TV.
