[ARCHIVED] 11/15 - Inclement Weather Affecting Residential Recycling

recycle bin label

In response to road conditions and snow/sleet accumulation today, the Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM) has announced that residential recycling collection for Thursday, November 15 is cancelled for the remainder of the day. For scheduled streets that did not yet receive recycling service today (please note that recycling collections were already operating on a shifted schedule due to the observance of the Veterans Day holiday), collection will resume tomorrow.

Make-up collections will continue through Saturday, November 17. Due to road conditions and the rescheduling of routes, the county cannot specify whether a specific street’s make-up collection will occur Friday or Saturday. To assist with collection, residents are asked to keep recycling carts that have not been emptied out through the end of the day Saturday if possible.

The Recycle Coach app keeps users automatically informed of unexpected recycling schedule changes and may be used on a mobile device or through the Department’s website: www.FrederickCountyMD.gov/recycle. Further information and updates on the status of the curbside recycling collection can also be obtained by calling 301-600-2960 to hear regularly updated voice recordings or by visiting the DSWM Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/FrederickRecycles.
