Boards & Commissions (B & C)

Boards and commissions allow members of our community to partner with Frederick County to help shape the structure of our future by sharing expertise and advising the County Executive and Council. Boards and commissions address a wide range of relevant topics, from the environment to human services to county planning.

We encourage residents to consider attending the public meetings held if the topic is of interest. If you have expertise in a topic, please consider applying for membership on the board or commission. Frederick County would appreciate your perspective.

Currently, some of the boards and commissions meet in-person or virtually. Videos of virtual live meetings and previously held virtual meetings may be viewed on the public portal.

Boards & Commissions Listing

  • Appointments are made by the Frederick County Executive and confirmed by the Frederick County Council with the exception of the Board of Appeals and the Interagency Internal Audit Authority as the County Council appoints those members.
  • Members serve without compensation with the exception of those serving on the Board of Appeals, Planning Commission, and the Police Accountability Board.
