Due to Winter Storm "Fern," All of Our Facilities and Programs will REOPEN on Tuesday, January 27th, 2026. 
Operating Hours: 7A M-4:30 PM (Tuesday-Saturday)

Curbside Recycling Status

Curbside Recycling will commence for this collection week on Tuesday, 1/27 
Please follow the "Snow Day Slide" schedule below:

Please have carts curbside by 6 AM on the day of your collection. 

Please note you have 1 Business Day to report a potential missed collection. 

Facility Update and Changes: 

As of July 1st, 2025, several changes are being made, including:

-A 10-Dollar Minimum on All Paid Transactions 

-A 25-Dollar-Per-Ton Yard Waste Fee

-And phasing out of our cash/check discount 

-Expanded Lithium-Ion and Textile Recycling

The Division of Solid Waste and Recycling is responsible for multiple essential services and programs in Frederick County that affect all households and businesses. This does not include trash collection services, which are provided by municipalities or private haulers and contracted by municipal governments, homeowner's associations, or individual residents.  Other responsibilities include: 

  • Management of the currently operating the Site B Sanitary Landfill, as well as monitoring and managing the closed landfill (site A)
  • Management and contractor oversight for the county's curbside residential recycling program
  • Operation of a recycling drop-off center
  • Operation of Frederick County's  yard waste and compost program 
  • Organization of Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off events
  • Educational outreach services for all of the previously listed programs
