Electronics Recycling

Electronics can be recycled at our 9031 Reichs Ford Road facility in Frederick through one of two entrances:

  • The scale house/weigh station (main entrance). These transactions incur a fee that is assessed per each twenty pounds of materials being recycled. Current rates may be viewed here.
  • Our facility also offers entrance via the Citizen's Convenience Center, which processes materials (including electronics for recycling) for one flat rate per transaction. More information and current rates are listed here

Electronics are not taken to the recycling drop-off center.

Please note: residents, businesses and haulers are limited to recycling ten (10) televisions and/or computer monitors (including “all-in-one” computers) per calendar year. This limit does not apply to tablets and laptops. Once the recycling limit is reached, residents and businesses may dispose of additional televisions and monitors as regular solid waste, charged at the same rate.

To prevent fires, please tape battery terminals and/or place each lithium-ion battery in a separate plastic bag.
