The Right to Farm Ordinance

On November 12, 1997, the Board of County Commissioners approved a Right to Farm Ordinance for Frederick County that would apply to the county and the municipalities. The Ordinance became effective January 1, 1997 and seeks to preserve, protect and encourage continued agricultural activities to exist. The Ordinance also serves to notify residents of farmers rights, clarify agricultural activities and set up a reconciliation board to hear complaints where conflicts arise. If you have a complaint concerning a farming operation or you are a farmer who needs information concerning their rights please contact Anne Bradley.
