The Division of Planning and Permitting is responsible for reviewing applications for zoning map amendments or what is commonly referred to as a rezoning. Two public hearings are involved in this process. The first hearing is before the Frederick County Planning Commission, which makes a recommendation to the County Council. The second hearing is before the County Council, which makes a final decision.
PLEASE NOTE: In accordance with the direction by the Governor banning large gatherings, the County Council has taken the precaution of postponing public hearings on the two rezoning cases scheduled for Tuesday, March 17th, Cromwell PUD Rezoning (R-19-01) and Delauter/Hutzell MXD Rezoning (R-19-02). At this time, these two rezoning cases will now have public hearings on Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at 7:00 pm, in the First Floor Hearing Room, Winchester Hall, 12 East Church Street, Frederick, Maryland.
